  • Test Analyst Te tūranga – The role The Test Analyst role will primarily be focussed on supporting the NZClear and ESAS change roadmaps. The role is responsible for preparing, running and interpreting the required testing for the applications and systems necessary to ensure that the payment and settlement systems function to optimal service levels to meet the RBNZ’s and stakeholder needs. The Test Analyst will also perform functional and non-functional testing as part of any projects undertaken that impact on the Payments Services (driven by the Bank or the Industry). You will provide a general level of application support for the NZClear and ESAS applications – assisting business operations, the ASTO team and project teams as and when required. The role may be required to work outside core business hours and also it may require working on an after-hours on-call capacity to provide support for software releases and project implementations, as well as assisting with resolution of application issues. This is a fixed term role through to January 2027. Ō pūkenga – About you To be successful in this role, you will bring: Experience testing payment systems, preferably with SWIFT experience Experience testing security depository systems Solid Experience in software testing – ideally having achieved a level of software testing accreditation (ISTQB Foundation Certification) The ability to effectively communicate through both written and verbal means A good understanding of software testing tools and techniques and as appropriate for large and message-based application testing Effective time management to meet testing deadlines and priorities A strong attention to detail, the ability to meticulously review requirements and test cases to identify defects and issues Core requirements for this role: Analytical thinking & problem-solving Understanding of testing processes Ability to plan, prioritise, and manage time effectively Ability to perform different kinds of tests (functional, regression, API, etc.) Adaptability / willingness to learn new tools and methods Patience, persistence, resilience under pressure Good documentation skills Ability to work well in a team and with diverse stakeholders Ko wai matou – Who we are We’re kaitiaki (guardians) of New Zealand’s financial ecosystem – enabling economic wellbeing and prosperity for all New Zealanders.
