About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll be helping people to join in community activities and events, drive people to appointments and catch-ups, as well as supporting people with their personal care and household jobs. Knowing you're making a positive impact in someone's life can truly have the same effect on your own.

We have a variety of positions available working a range of shifts and hours including weekends.

  • Your hourly rate will be $25.37 to $31.13 an hour, dependent upon your qualifications as recognized under the Care and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017.
  • Sleepovers (10.00PM to 7.00AM) are paid at the adult minimum wage rate.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Live Life Disability Support (LLDS) provide support to people who have disabilities to live great lives in the Nelson Marlborough community.

We support people to manage their day to day lives in ways and at times that work for them. The people we support have a wide range of abilities, gifts and challenges. We actively encourage people to pursue their dreams and try out new experiences and can guarantee that no two days working at Live Life DSS are ever the same.

Our main locations are Nelson, but we are spread across the region and service all parts of the community. Our work can be challenging, but we are up for it. We have a great team, and we work hard to make a difference.

About you

As a Support Worker, you need to be empathetic and have patience when supporting all type of patients.

Applicants must have a full NZ Driver License and be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.

Appointment and ongoing employment will be conditional upon criminal record/police checks - you must declare any convictions and/or pending charges on your application form. This will include checks under the Children Act 2014.
