Job Summary We are seeking for an experienced Settlements Officer to be responsible for managing the process of home loan settlements including; documentation, payments and disbursements. The Settlements Officer will work with lenders, solicitors and other stakeholders to ensure that settlements are completed on time and accurately. Settlements Officers ensure that organisations are compliant with business and regulatory policies in the processing and management of loan settlements. About The Role Manage the end-to-end mortgage settlement process, ensuring all legal, financial, and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time. Prepare and review settlement statements, verify financial details, and oversee timely disbursement of funds within agreed SLAs. Handle lodging of registerable documents and cheque banking for paper settlements. Verify cheque directions, proof of funds, and payment destinations for secured and unsecured loans. Perform settlement quality assurance checks, update systems post-settlement, and issue post-settlement letters within SLAs. Ensure all allocated settlements are completed daily and maintain personal work queues in line with service standards. About You You’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, compliant work. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with clients, lenders, and internal teams. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills to navigate complex tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience in the mortgage industry is a plus. Familiarity with settlement software and related systems. You have a valid work rights in New Zealand.
