• Provide day-to-day leadership to less experienced log truck drivers in the team.
• Assist with mentoring and training junior drivers in safe heavy vehicle operation, log loading and restraint, forestry road protocols, and fatigue management.
• Step in to help manage and resolve emergency situations, including vehicle breakdowns, accidents, road closures, or adverse weather events.
• Provide informal performance feedback and escalate training or compliance concerns to management where required.

Our company is looking for a permanent, full-time, Senior Log Truck Driver Class 5 to join our
busy team in Bay of Plenty.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Taking responsibility for your vehicle and notifying the company of any service or
other maintenance that may be required.
Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles safely to avoid any kind of
damages.
Adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules.
Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record.
Reviewing job sheets before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete.
Informing management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on
time.
Keeping your vehicle clean and tidy.
Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries.
Notifying the company of any accidents or damage to the vehicle immediately and
complete the appropriate paperwork within 24 hours.

Maintain a current driver’s license applicable for the vehicle you drive.

Requirements:
Heavy Vehicle License (NZ Class 5, or Overseas Equivalent).
Physically fit as the job is physically demanding.

Being able to drive a 9 axle Truck and trailer unit and navigate it through demanding terrain.Also provide training to trainee drivers.

5 Years minimum experience required.

Pre employment drug test will be required.

45 -70 Hours per week
