- As Senior International Category Manager – Produce, Herbs & Fruits (PHF), you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy for one of our most important and fast paced categories. Take ownership of the subcategories across PHF supply, leading supplier negotiations, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring consistent supply chain performance.You’ll act as a point of escalation for operational issues, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies to life.
- This role can be based in either Chippendale, Sydney or Penrose, Auckland and reports directly to the Category Lead. You’ll act as a point of escalation for operational issues, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to bring innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies to life. - You will…
- Help develop and optimise our supplier network country-wide for the category.
- Provide procurement advice, price updates, reporting, replenishment, compliance and tenders.
- Work closely with suppliers to build strong long-term strategic relationships and ensure on-time, on-spec deliveries or discuss shortages/missed deliveries.
- Research and develop relationships with new suppliers.
- Assist with cost reporting, invoice validation and supplier database maintenance.
- Solve problems on-the-go in a fast-paced environment.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and improve workings between Procurement and other teams.
- Create ongoing data analysis and category reviews to drive performance strategically within your category and achieve ambitious targets.
- Lead process improvement initiatives across the category, leveraging various Procurement levers, optimising and standardising cross-category where possible.
- Look to develop and optimise our supplier network as well as new or alternative suppliers.
- Lead and influence a variety of stakeholders within the business.
- Support new product and concept launches through procurement lens.
- You have…
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a Master’s in Supply Chain / Procurement (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic procurement, supply chain, or operations, with a preference for experience in the food industry.
- Proven experience working within a similar sector and environment (FMCG/Consumer goods).
- Demonstrated experience in supplier relationship management and driving continuous category improvements.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including solid proficiency with Excel.
- Knowledge of and interest in food; produce industry experience is highly desirable, though not essential.
