As our new Building Hydraulics engineer, you’ll be a vital part of the buildings team that is changing the way we design and deliver major projects to achieve carbon neutrality and more sustainable buildings. Your role will include: Hydraulic Systems Design – Develop and optimize hydraulic systems to ensure energy-efficient, sustainable building performance. Exciting Projects – Join an energetic team working on some of New Zealand’s most eminent projects. Project Collaboration – Work alongside architects, buildings engineers, and other professionals to integrate hydraulic solutions into diverse building projects. Compliance & Standards – Ensure designs meet New Zealand building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards for safety and efficiency. Technical Assessments – Conduct site inspections, system analysis, and performance evaluations to refine designs and troubleshoot issues. Innovation & Sustainability – Implement cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to enhance building functionality and reduce environmental impact. As well as experience in a similar hydraulic building services engineering role. Specifically: Technical Expertise – 8-10 years’ experience with strong knowledge of hydraulics systems including potable and hot water, stormwater, sanitary drainage, trade waste and gas system building systems, with experience in design, documentation, and project execution. Experience in fire protection systems including hydrants, hose-reels and sprinklers is beneficial. Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to analyse complex engineering challenges, develop innovative solutions, and optimize hydraulic systems for efficiency and sustainability. Collaboration & Communication – Effective teamwork and stakeholder engagement, with clear communication skills to liaise with architects, engineers, and clients. Regulatory Knowledge – Understanding of New Zealand building codes, industry standards, and compliance requirements to ensure high-quality, compliant designs. Project Management – Capability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work efficiently within a fast-paced consultancy environment. Passion for Innovation – A proactive mindset, eager to explore new technologies and sustainable practices to enhance building performance. A Client Focus – Understand our client’s perspective and aligning advice, designs and service to meet their needs.
