About

  • About the role
  • We’re looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our IFRS Reporting team and play a key role in delivering accurate, insight-driven financial results for Chubb Life NZ.
  • This role sits at the heart of our business, supporting IFRS, US GAAP, solvency and capital reporting, and providing technical insight that informs decisions across NZ and APAC.
  • It’s a great time to join: the actuarial function is growing, we’re modernising our processes, and you’ll be part of a team focused on lifting capability, improving controls, and delivering high-quality financial outcomes.
  • You’ll work across a wide range of valuation, modelling and financial reporting activities, bringing clarity to complex data, strengthening our control environment, and helping us evolve towards best-practice reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with the broader actuarial team, Finance, and business leaders, and you’ll have visibility across major reporting cycles, regulatory deliverables, and business planning.
  • This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and contributing to an actuarial function that’s continually raising the bar. If you like variety, pace, and being part of a high-performing global insurer, this is the opportunity.
  • In this key role you’ll
  • Deliver IFRS actuarial results for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, valuation controls, model monitoring and assumption reviews.
  • Support solvency and capital reporting, including RBNZ quarterly and annual insurer returns.
  • Identify and assess risks that affect insurance liabilities and profitability.
  • Contribute to improvements in systems, controls, and reporting processes, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency and automation.
  • To be successful and grow in this role, you will ideally bring the following
  • Fully qualified or associate actuary (Australia, US, UK or equivalent), or close to completion.
  • 5+ years’ life insurance experience with strong valuation, reporting and actuarial judgement.
  • Knowledge of IFRS17/IFRS reporting, New Zealand insurance regulation, and experience using Prophet or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical capability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to clearly explain complex concepts.
  • Experience improving processes, enhancing controls, or implementing model developments.
  • A collaborative, proactive style, someone who can balance pace and accuracy, manage deadlines, and work well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
