About
Do you love watching tamariki light up as they discover the world around them? We’re looking for a Registered Teacher to join our kind, professional team at Busy Bees New Plymouth. Bring your practice to a centre where curiosity leads, relationships matter, and you’re backed to grow. About Us: Busy Bees New Plymouth is a centre where curiosity sets the pace and kindness sets the tone. We have three beautiful, age-appropriate rooms, each with its own outdoor space so tamariki can connect with Papatūānuku every day. Play is our engine: gardens for kaitiakitanga, big-body movement in wide open areas, calm rooms full of quality, open-ended resources. Our week is rich with community - children’s yoga, kapa haka, the visiting library bus, visits with Chalmers Rest Home, and adventures on our local park. We notice children’s ideas, follow their lead, and celebrate their voices. As part of a nationwide whānau, you’ll feel the backing of Busy Bees Aotearoa around you, with supportive leadership, and a culture that champions professional craft and everyday aroha. About You: You hold current NZ teacher registration in ECE or Primary and bring warm energy, clear communication, and a nurturing presence. You are confident with planning and curriculum. Building strong relationships with colleagues and whānau comes naturally to you, and your practice is inclusive and bicultural, creating environments where tamariki feel safe and curious. The Mahi: You will create thoughtful, play-based experiences that honour children’s ideas, observe and assess learning with care, and contribute to planning and learning stories that reflect each child’s voice. In the room you will champion safety, wellbeing, and inclusive practice, while partnering closely with whānau to set goals, celebrate progress, and keep each learner’s journey front and center. Why You’ll Love it Here: Full Pay Parity! Competitively discounted childcare First aid certification, annual flu vaccines and staff uniforms A generous PLD budget where you can choose PLD for your own learning Comprehensive induction, mentoring, and coaching. This is a fantastic opportunity to help grow our future generation. Apply now by sending through your CV and cover letter. Applicants should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. We are an Accredited Employer Why Work for Busy Bees? If you’re passionate about early learning, Busy Bees is the place to be. Although we are part of a global organisation, our company was founded by three families looking for better, more enriching childcare. Three decades later, we still keep the same values at heart. We know that we couldn’t do what we do without the important people in our teams. We invest in our people and work with them to build career pathways that inspire. Join our whānau If you’re looking for a new centre to call home, Busy Bees Aotearoa may be the perfect fit for you! Early Childhood Education attracts a special type of person. You might be known for being creative, nurturing or task focused… but ultimately, you were attracted to Early Childhood Education because you care deeply for the education of the littlest members of our communities. We understand this because this is what attracted us too. We want to gather people who care deeply about quality and empower people to bring their unique gifts and talents together for the benefit of our tamariki. We value each member of our team, and know that by supporting you in your journey, you’ll be the positive and supportive influence in theirs. Across the variety of our centres and Support Office we’re looking for passionate, dedicated, and committed people who love what they do.
