- This is an opportunity for a Public Experience Specialist to help programme our events, stories, spaces and taonga. From events, education programmes, tours and other experiences, your work will help us connect with existing audiences and engage new ones. In this role, you’ll lead the design and delivery of inspiring and innovative programmes across the Library and Archives public and gallery spaces.
- What we’re looking for
- We're looking for someone with a solid foundation in public experiences, education programmes and / or marketing and communications, who is highly creative, organised and comfortable working and influencing across teams and organisations to get things done in a fast-paced environment. You’ll specialise in designing and delivering engaging programmes, events, tours and resources for all ages and communities.
You’ll need
- Proven experience planning and delivering public experiences and education programmes.
- A strong understanding of audience engagement, communications and marketing.
- Expertise building relationships with stakeholders, partners and colleagues.
- Experience engaging audiences and diverse communities.
- Strong project management skills, including budget and resource planning.
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in interpreting insights and analytics to assess success and improve outcomes.
- An awareness of the impact of Te Tiriti o Waitangi on public programmes and / or marketing practice and a commitment to supporting mātauranga Māori.
- An interest in encouraging engagement, access, as well as storytelling and community connection.

- The Partnerships and Commissions branch of DIA is responsible for a diverse portfolio of national institutions, commissions, Executive and community-based services. The branch oversees and supports the National Library and Archives New Zealand, Hāpai Hapori – Community Operations, and Ministerial Services who provide a range of services to the Prime Minister and the Executive. The branch oversees various commissions including royal commissions, ministerial inquiries and those established through legislation (Local Government Commission, Gambling Commission).
