  • Hon Paul Goldsmith, Minister for Arts Culture and Heritage, Minister of Justice, Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations and Minister for Media and Communications is seeking a motivated and professional administrator to join his team as a Private Secretary (Administration).
  • Based on-site at Parliament, working at the heart of government, you’ll be part of a trusted team supporting the Minister for the remainder of the 54th Parliament. This is interesting and rewarding work, offering a unique insight into high-level decision-making, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and public communications.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Be the face of the office, greeting visitors and managing queries via email and phone
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, including invitation management, ministerial correspondence and meeting coordination
  • Support the Senior Private Secretary with diary management, travel planning, and coordination
  • Support the wider team with administrative tasks
  • Provide cover for the Senior Private Secretary when required, leading the wider office in delivering exceptional service.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in administration, secretarial, or reception roles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint

  • High level of resilience, maturity, and discretion
  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Salary & Conditions
  • Salary range: $71,767– $89,310 per annum
  • Starting salary will reflect relevant skills, experience, and internal parity
  • This is an events-based position aligned with the parliamentary term.

  • Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents and able to obtain and maintain a national security clearance at a confidential level or above.
