We’re now seeking an experienced People and Culture (P&C) Manager to join our Christchurch-based team to lead the delivery of strategic and operational processes across our national business.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a seasoned P&C/HR Manager who wants more than a transactional role to join our Christchurch Based team. This position offers true ownership of the role within a respected, nationwide organisation, where your advice will shape leadership decisions, organisational change, and future growth. It’s an ideal role for a confident leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys being close to the business.
You will be responsible for leading all People focused aspects of our business including human resources, employment relations, and people strategy. You will work closely with senior leaders to build capability, support change, and drive a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of our people and culture strategy across New Zealand
- Champion a positive, collaborative, and high-performance workplace culture that supports employee engagement, growth and retention of our people
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers providing expert advice and solutions on all people-related matters
- Lead and deliver end-to-end HR/ ER functions across the organisation
- Lead organisational change and workforce planning initiatives
- Oversee recruitment processes and strategies across the business
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with New Zealand employment legislation and industry best practice
- Champion the long-term success of the organisation through a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Drive talent development, succession planning, and capability building through performance management frameworks
You are a confident and experienced P&C or HR Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You are pragmatic, commercially minded, and comfortable influencing at all levels of the organisation.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in a senior P&C/ HR Manager role
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to make sound, balanced decisions aligned to business objectives
- High integrity and the ability to operate autonomously
- Strong capability in performance management and talent development
- Experience leading workforce planning activities including recruitment, onboarding and managing end to end ER processes
- Strong knowledge of NZ employment law and employment relations
- Proven skills to develop and support culture and retention strategies
- Passion to create a positive employee experience that drives engagement and retention
- Senior leadership role with real influence
