We are seeking a Payroll Advisor for a permanent part-time 0.3 FTE role to join our team at EIT. This role supports our payroll team to deliver an accurate, timely, and customer-focused end-to-end payroll service. You will process payroll, resolve queries, maintain compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The position is critical to ensuring smooth payroll operations and supporting organisational change when required.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $72,300 and $82,616, dependent on skills and experience. The Payroll Advisor is based in our People & Culture team and reports to the Payroll Manager. Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver accurate, timely, and customer-focused payroll services for fortnightly pay cycles.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, validating data for compliance and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Investigate and resolve payroll queries, including overpayments, underpayments, and anomalies.
- Support ACC case management, ensuring correct calculations and compliance with legislation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement through audits, system upgrades, and process enhancements.
- Provide excellent customer service and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships with People & Culture, Finance, managers, and external agencies.
- Offer essential support during peak periods such as year-end processing and audits.
- Apply technical accuracy, problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and high standards of service.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- At least five years’ experience in payroll administration within a medium to large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, employment legislation, and privacy requirements.
- High level of numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
