ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform lofting, nesting, and template preparation as required by project level. Coordinate with Engineering and Production teams to support fabrication processes. Support plate and structure planning for hull and outfitting items. Address drawing clarifications and part location requirements. Use 3D models to support production clarity and build strategy alignment. Participate in continuous improvement and support project documentation efforts. Perform other duties as required. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Reporting Relationship This position will report to Lofting Manager Qualifications Education/Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in marine or structural lofting, preferably in a shipyard environment. Skills: Good organizational and communication skills Proficient in CAD/CAM tools including AutoCAD, Rhino, and nesting software. Solid understanding of ship structure and 3D models. Ability to interpret and troubleshoot design discrepancies. Ability to lead complex layout planning and resolve production issues. Required Expertise in structural lofting and nesting with various software platforms. Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities. Working Conditions Work may occur both in an office and occasionally in production or shipyard settings. Noise level is generally moderate. Physical Activity/Requirements This position may involve occasional lifting, walking in shipyard environments, and frequent use of computer systems in an office setting.
