As part of this tīma (team), you’ll help embed health and safety principles and leadership capability into everything we do, driving initiatives that foster trust, collaboration, and care across the organisation. It is an Auckland or Wellington based tūranga (role) with hybrid working – three days in the office (one being a Tuesday) and two days with the option of working remotely. Mō te Tūranga | About the tūranga We spoke with our Head of Health and Safety (who you will report to), who let us know the following about the tūranga: What does a day in the life of a Health & Safety Business Partner look like? First point of contact for health and safety queries across the business. Upskilling H&S Representatives and People Leaders. Undertaking incident investigations, injury management and projects to uplift H&S maturity. Supporting the business with key risk controls management. What is the tīma culture and environment like? We are a supportive Health, Safety, Culture & Wellbeing tīma who mahi (work) hard with a mission to uplift maturity but don't take themselves too seriously at the same time! What do we want you to know before you apply? You will need a great understanding of NZ H&S Legislation and risk management in practice, particularly critical risk assessment. Having experience with Ecoportal is an advantage, as is the ability to write health and safety documentation You will have detailed understanding and experience of ACC partnership programme audit. You will have a detailed understanding of injury management processes and working with TPAs. In addition, the ability to engage, motivate and work collaboratively with key stakeholders is a must. What will success look like for the candidate in this tūranga? Uplifting maturity with key stakeholders, identify and implementing process improvements to make things as simple but effective and safe as practicable. What attributes will this person have in order to be successful? We are looking for a self-starter who has strong problem-solving and time management skills. You will be able to juggle many priorities and build strong relationships. You will be influential with the ability to lead and coach others that are part of the project tīma.
