  • Please be aware that this role is based at our Hawera site in Taranaki – we require the successful candidate to be based there, or near, and work full-time on site.
  • About the Role
  • Our Health & Recovery Advisor is responsible for providing health services such as first aid injury treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing injury management to our colleagues at site. In this people focused position you will be required to work within various departments liaising and supporting departmental leaders with injury management, undertake health monitoring, complete pre-employment medicals, and follow best practice to ensure that injured employees are rehabilitated as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • This role will support people that work on our night shift, so hours of work will be between 8am-10pm weekdays, to provide time for night shift employees to see you, earlier starts during our shutdown period where you’ll work our dayshift hours.

Key responsibilities

  • All injuries are treated, attended effectively and efficiently in accordance with best practice occupational health medicine
  • Administration, management and rehabilitation of work-related injuries
  • Maintain accurate, secure and confidential records
  • Collate medical injury statistics and provide reporting as required
  • Promotion of health and wellness, and prevention of injury in line with the Health & Safety management plan
  • About You
  • Ideally you would be an experienced nurse, or have a background in occupational health, have PHEC training with a knowledge in injury treatment and management.
  • You will be confident with administering a range of first aid treatment as well as monitoring ongoing health and wellness initiatives to ensure the wellbeing of our team members. You will have experience with carrying out various health checks such as hearing tests and drug & alcohol testing.

Some experience in Injury Management would be advantageous, as well as

  • An understanding of ACC and the Accredited Employers Programme
  • Current First Aid certificate would be beneficial
  • Experience as a massage therapist or physio would be beneficial
  • Drug & Alcohol testing qualification would be advantageous
  • Maintenance and record keeping ensuring accurate, private records of all health matters on site
  • Experience working within Microsoft applications such as excel, word and PowerPoint
  • Able to communicate and develop relationships with people from a range of backgrounds
