  • The part you'll play
  • The Head of AI Technology leads the development, deployment, and governance of artificial intelligence solutions across the organisation for the Docuvera technology team.
  • This role ensures the underlying architecture, governance, and technical direction are coherent, secure, and aligned to enterprise-wide AI strategy. Working closely with other AI functions, this role serves as the technical cornerstone of Docuvera’s AI ecosystem. It partners with the Internal AI Enablement role, which focuses on empowering teams with AI tools, workflows, and skills to enhance productivity and delivery. It also collaborates with the Product AI function, which embeds AI capabilities into customer-facing products and solutions.
  • It is responsible for shaping the AI strategy, ensuring ethical and scalable implementation, and delivering AI-powered products and platforms that drive business innovation and efficiency. It requires delivering outcomes at pace, balancing speed with strategic insight, to drive initiatives that are both rapid and robust. They will identify opportunities, implement scalable AI solutions, and iterate quickly, influencing stakeholders and translating complex AI concepts into actionable strategies that enhance Docuvera's technological and product capabilities.
  • What you'll focus on
  • AI Solution development and delivery
  • Maintain full accountability for the AI technology function.
  • Lead and oversee the design, development, and implementation of AI models, algorithms, and platforms.
  • Lead the strategic design, development, and deployment of AI capabilities within the Docuvera product suite, driving innovation across document intelligence, semantic search, and workflow automation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and compliance teams to embed AI into the SDLC, enabling squad-level experimentation, safe deployment, and measurable business impact
  • Establish best practices for AI observability, performance benchmarking and monetization
  • Monitor AI system performance, manage risk, and proactively address bias, security, and reliability concerns
  • Ensure documentation, reproducibility, and transparency in all AI projects
  • Ensure AI systems integrate seamlessly with existing technology infrastructure.
  • Drive innovation in AI applications across products, operations, and customer experiences.

  • Alongside the CTO, define and execute the AI technology roadmap in alignment with business and product strategy, balancing rapid prototyping with production-grade reliability, and continuously scanning the horizon for emerging techniques
  • Establish AI best practices, governance frameworks, and standards to ensure ethical, secure, and scalable AI deployment.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and trends to maintain a competitive advantage
  • Own the AI technology roadmap and contribute to product strategy, and business planning discussions
  • Influence the business to drive rapid, strategic initiatives into actionable business impact
  • Identify and mitigate technical, security and people risks, ensuring resilience, strong performance, and security of systems and teams

  • Help to champion internal enablement initiatives to upskill engineers, including in AI-assisted workflows, fostering a culture of experimentation, high quality with measurable impact
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Partner with the Tech SLT to have an aligned strategy and approach to team performance, harmonising practices to ensure clarity and efficiency
  • Own the AI technology roadmap, balancing rapid prototyping with production-grade reliability, and continuously scanning the horizon for emerging techniques in prompt engineering, fine-tuning, model distillation, and graph-enhanced inference
  • Partner with the Head of Engineering to align their roadmap and priorities
  • Work in close collaboration with Product and other business teams to identify AI opportunities and requirements and effectively deliver on product roadmap priorities
  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear business solutions and communicate technical trade-offs
  • Work with external AI vendors, research institutions, and technology partners as needed
  • What you'll bring to the role
  • We're looking for a mix of these key skills, experience and knowledge
  • Key experience and background
  • 10+ years in software development, with 3+ years in AI leadership or senior technical roles
  • Proven track record of delivering AI-driven products or platforms at scale
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership priorities and team leadership responsibilities
  • Has been in positions with a high level of accountability, focused on moving at pace to deliver outcomes
  • Familiarity with AI ethics, regulatory standards, and responsible AI practices
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and other AI technologies
  • Experience with risk management, continuous improvement and compliance requirements
  • Delivery and execution
  • Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or digital transformation environments
  • Experience managing external AI vendors, research collaborations, or cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong experience with AI frameworks and libraries
  • Deep understanding of data pipelines, cloud computing, and scalable AI infrastructure
  • Proven ability to understand and manage customer or other stakeholder’s needs with the capacity and ability of the team to deliver
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent initiatives
