In this role, you’ll assist with a range of farm tasks — from milking, calving, and feeding stock, to effluent management, spraying, and fencing. You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operations and work closely with your team to help meet production and animal welfare goals. You’ll receive full training and support, and we’ll encourage you to take the initiative, develop your skills, and support newer team members along the way. The Farm Landsdown Dairy covers approximately 262 effective hectares and features a composting barn system. Located just 10 minutes south of Balclutha, we milk 650 cows through a 50-bail rotary equipped with ACRs and Milk Hub technology. Recreational opportunities abound, both on-farm and nearby. The property and surrounding region offer access to excellent hunting and fishing, with rivers, forests, and coastline all within easy reach. Hiking and biking trails wind through scenic landscapes, while local beaches and waterways provide plenty of options for kayaking, boating, and swimming. About You You’ll bring a willingness to learn, get stuck in, and contribute to the team’s success. Ideally, you’ll also have: Experience in a similar dairy farming role (or a strong interest in developing one) Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team A proactive attitude with initiative and commitment to animal welfare and health & safety The ability to coach and support junior or new staff where required A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence Benefits We offer a competitive salary package, up to 4% KiwiSaver matching and you receive ongoing training and development.
