At NAVIYA PRIVATE LIMITED T/A SUBI’S DESSERTS in Auckland, we are looking for a Cook for our store with an immediate start. Our store sells Deserts such as Ice Cream, brownies, and cheesecakes. We are an exceptional team and need likeminded people to join us now.
Your key Responsibilities include:
- Organise the stock with a first-in, first-out method, especially for perishable goods.
- Store goods at the correct temperature and ensure that the correct temperature in kitchen equipment is always sustained.
- Assign work to kitchen staff to prepare raw materials before stepping into the Final making and cooking of the Ice Cream, brownies, and cheesecakes.
- Prepare ice cream with accurate measurements and meet the dietary requirements of customers.
- Prepare brownies with accurate measurements and meet the customers' dietary requirements.
- Prepare the cheesecake with accurate measurements and meet the customers' dietary requirements.
- Created and maintained the taste and quality of Ice Cream, brownies, and cheesecake according to the store's traditional recipe.
- Select high-quality ingredients and upgrade them where and when required to ensure the customer interest and market trend is sustained to meet the standards of the Ice Cream store.
- Maintaining cleanliness, sanitisation, and organization of kitchen equipment at all times.
- Must be able to operate kitchen equipment, including setting the temperature in the freezer and setting the temperature in the baking ovens.
- Food safety regulations and maintaining the highest standard of hygiene.
- Oversea cooking and making process of brownie and Ice Cream and cheesecake to ensure food quality standards are met at all times.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate with the manager to source ingredients and fresh quality supplies for the kitchen.
- Check that the goods in supplies arrive as requested.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues while performing the Ice Cream, brownie, and cheesecake production.
- Train the kitchen staff and oversee their performance on a day-to-day basis.
- Provide cost estimation for ice cream, brownie, cheesecake, and waffle where and when required.
- Able to work and perform under pressure, especially during the busy season and catering period.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2- 3 years of relevant work experience for the role of Cook or the qualification of NZQA Level 2 can substitute the requirement of work experience.
- The selected candidate will receive detailed training.
- Basic communication skills and the basic knowledge of technology to operate the equipment.
- Able to work independently and make decisions in the kitchen for the betterment of the business.
- Pass random drug and alcohol tests (when required)
- Clear criminal record
- Have an excellent manner with people, especially team members.
- Reliable and flexible to change.
- Must be able to work across any shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must be able to work in split shifts
- Must be a fit, quick thinker, reliable, trustworthy, and self-motivated
- Able to lift weights up to 25kg.
