We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Cleaning & Sanitation Lead to join our Food Safety team based out of our Tomoana site in New Zealand! Key position responsibilities include, but not limited to: Lead and advise the site on sanitation practices, providing hands-on guidance to ensure cleaning standards are met. Develop, implement and maintain sanitation procedures, training materials and operating standards. Train and coach production staff to complete sanitation tasks according to schedules and specifications. Run verification and validation activities (e.g., GMP audits, environmental monitoring) and track corrective actions. Monitor performance, investigate hygiene-related issues and customer complaints, and drive root-cause improvements. Own KHMS standards and compliance activities, support internal/external audits and ensure timely follow-up. Coordinate with third-party cleaning and pest-control providers and prepare regular site reports (e.g., Golden Rules, quarterly reviews). Support cross-functional teams, cover Process/GEMBA schedules as needed, and promote continuous improvement across the site. About you: Tertiary qualification in food science, food technology or a related discipline, with around two years’ experience in a quality role preferred. Practical knowledge of HACCP principles and application (Level 4 preferred) and experience as an internal and/or external auditor. Hands-on experience conducting internal audits, validations and leading or participating in risk assessments. Proven track record of following up and supporting closure of corrective actions. Strong analytical skills to assess products against specific requirements and identify root causes. Able to work collaboratively in a team to resolve problems and improve systems. Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and personal/professional development. Eligibility to work in New Zealand with full working rights.
