Do you love turning fresh ingredients into meals that bring people together? We are looking for a Centre Cook to join Busy Bees Ōtāhuhu and help fuel our tamariki with kai that supports busy bodies, curious minds and a culture rich curriculum. This is a full time role, Monday to Friday. About us: Busy Bees Ōtāhuhu is a vibrant, community focused centre with nursery, toddler and preschool spaces and a strong connection to local whānau and places. Excursions to parks, gardens, the library and community events are a regular part of our week, and food sits right at the centre of that life. We are proud holders of the Rito Tohu Manawa Ora Healthy Heart Award, with Nourish menus that keep food simple, fresh and minimally processed. The kitchen really is the heart of the centre. You will be part of a values led team who see the cook as a key role in wellbeing, culture and daily routines, not just someone “out the back.” As part of Busy Bees Aotearoa you will have clear guidelines, strong leadership support and a wider network who value quality food. The mahi: Working Monday to Friday, you will prepare daily kai for our tamariki, follow menu guidelines, maintain high standards of food safety and kitchen hygiene, and support our centre with food related routines. You will also be a friendly, familiar presence for children and part of the wider team culture. About you: Confident cooking for groups and comfortable following set menus Organised, efficient and able to maintain a clean, well run kitchen Warm, friendly and able to build rapport with tamariki and whānau Fit and active with good time management A great communicator with a positive, team centred attitude Experience cooking in an ECE centre or similar environment is an advantage Why you will love it here: You will be part of a genuinely friendly, supportive team where your work is noticed and appreciated.
