- About the role
- The Business Analyst is responsible for working with project teams, business stakeholders, and IT teams to enhance operational effectiveness and deliver value via projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Focusing heavily on delivering solutions via a holistic approach (system, process, and people), this role involves analysing existing processes, drawing inferences, and then designing ‘to-be’ processes and systems that align with broader business goals. The Business Analyst will have a technical leaning and be a key member of the Project Management Office, collaborating closely with the IT team.
Other duties include
- Adopt a consultative approach to working with the business stakeholders to understand their function, perspective and objectives while identifying and documenting their business solution and processes.
- Analyse and evaluate a business unit’s processes, workflows, and solutions to identify process variations, complexity, inefficiencies and functionality or technical gaps.
- Identify and document the key business requirements (BRD) and translate this into technical specifications.
- Provide technical expertise and support to project team members.
- Understand key aspects of change, impact on stakeholder groups, potential source of stakeholder resistance to change and articulate and communicate effectively with impacted staff and stakeholders.
- Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with a focus on technical projects
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or related field
- Ideally a Business Analyst qualification (Six Sigma – Green Belt, PMI-PBA, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP, PMI-PBA, BCS)).
- Provide technical expertise and support to project team members.
- Experience working in a project management environment.
- Experience in the project life cycle – being able to operate in the initial conceptual design stage, in the depths of system testing and at each stage in between.
