We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst for an exciting 6-month contract based in Palmerston North, focusing on critical Learning Reform and Capability projects.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will take a leading role in two major areas of work:

1. Analyze Opportunities and Define User Requirements

Lead current state investigations and business process analysis sessions with Subject Matter Experts.
Conduct detailed requirements analysis, documenting business processes and opportunities accurately.
Perform Business Process Re-engineering where appropriate to refine business benefits.
Undertake and document financial analysis of the costs and benefits of implementing new processes and technology.

2. Business Case Development & Change Planning

Lead the development of comprehensive business case documentation, ensuring alignment with the Capability Management Framework.
Communicate proposed solutions to diverse stakeholder groups and ensure design documents reflect project needs.
Collaborate with vendors and partners to develop a broad implementation plan for learning system reform.

Key Relationships and Skills

Required Experience: 3+ years' experience in business analysis and project management principles, ideally within a New Zealand government agency.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of IT-related system architecture principles, relevant software development life cycles (SDLC), and the existing data/technology environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Business, IT, CompSci, or Commerce) AND/OR industry qualifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile Certifications, or PRINCE2/PMP.
Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to successfully lead, motivate, and direct project efforts, and to confidently present analytical outputs to non-technical audiences.
Must hold NZ Visa
