About us
The Naked Baker is a busy Christchurch bakehouse, café and coffee roastery. We bake our breads, cakes, pastries and pies on site, using quality ingredients and traditional methods. We are now looking for an experienced Baker to join our production team.

About the role

This is a full-time role (minimum 30 hours a week) with early morning shifts and weekend work on a roster.

Key duties include:

· Preparing, baking and finishing buns, cakes, biscuits, slices, tarts and other pastry goods

· Measuring and weighing ingredients, and mixing batters, fillings and doughs according to recipes

· Kneading, rolling, cutting and shaping pastry and dough products

· Preparing pastry fillings such as custards, creams and fruit fillings

· Monitoring ovens and product appearance to ensure correct baking times and quality

· Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes and specialty items with cream, icing and other finishes

· Operating and cleaning bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens and trays

· Checking cleanliness of work areas and equipment, and following food safety and hygiene procedures

Skills and experience

· 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial bakery, café or similar environment OR bakery qualifications (level 4).

· Ability to work to recipes, time frames and production targets

· Good understanding of food safety and workplace hygiene

· Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and working on your feet

· Reliability, good time management and a positive attitude

· Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays as rostered
