About the role: In your role as Analyst, QC (Quality Control) you will play a critical role within the GCIB/JCBD KYC team. This team is integral to the GCIB (Global Corporate and Investment Banking) and JCBD (Japanese Corporate and Investment Banking) department, tasked with conducting customer due diligence and identification to meet local AML (Anti-Money Laundering) laws and internal KYC policies. The goal is to ensure compliance while providing exceptional onboarding experiences for MUFG customers. Support QC Associate and Management: Assist the QC Associate and Director of the GCIB/JCBD KYC in the quality control, managing daily operations, including work allocation, training, education, and deadline management to uphold the team's high performance standards. In this role you will be engaged in a 12 month Fixed Term Contract joining our GCIB KYC Team based in Sydney, Australia or Auckland New Zealand. What you’ll be doing: Quality Check of KYC Files - Perform the end-to-end quality checks on KYC files submitted by KYC analysts. Confirm completeness and accuracy of customer information including: Legal entity details Beneficial ownership and control structures Directors, authorized signatories Contact and registration details Ensure CDD/SDD/EDD risk classification is appropriately assigned Regulatory & Policy Compliance - Validate files against: AML/CFT regulations Applicable sanctions guidelines MUFG Global/Regional/Local programs Risk Assessment Verification – Ensure appropriate risk-based approach is applied for: High-risk countries PEPs Complex ownership structures High-risk industries Insufficient rationale or missing documentation Documentation & Control Conduct detailed QC comments specifying errors, gaps, and required corrections. Maintain audit trail of QC reviews, outcomes, and countermeasures. Track error trends and rework patterns. What we are looking for: 3 + years experience in the compliance, banking, accounting, legal, consultancy, regulatory or any equivalent sectors Experience in AML / KYC fields is considered favourably Possess a general understanding of financial business, economy and markets Proficiency in Microsoft Office in particular, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint Be able to engage in independent research and analysis of customers, regulations and banking products The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally You will have strong interpersonal and presentations skills Will be a team player Will be a self-starter with drive, initiative and enthusiasm Our culture: MUFG fosters a highly professional, supportive work environment that enables our employees to help maximize our customers' prosperity.
